Come join us for Pony Rides in Garden River at the Recreation Centre for the Back to School Blitz Event! Pony Rides are 10.00/ride. Helmets are provided. Bring your friends!
Katie Colfer Clinic 10/3-4
Katie Colfer-Reece is a USHJA certified trainer and owner of K. Colfer Sporthorses since 2009 located just outside of Alanson, Michigan. Katie instructs both hunter/jumper and dressage riders, with success at both local and the national levels. KCS has been accepted as a USPC riding school and has been approved by the United States Pony Club - the largest equine educational organization in the world, riders from around the globe follow the pony club curriculum.

Great Lakes Equestrian Festival July 13-26
Our riders represented North Star Equestrian in Traverse City, MI during weeks GLEF III and GLEF IV. Always proud of their achievements both in the ring and ringside supporting each other. Fantastic riding all around and we are so proud of them!
Annual Schooling Show 07/12
Our local schooling show invites all our students and the community once a year to showcase all their skills learned over the past season and are judged on their efforts. Riders learn show etiquette, scheduling, and how to get their horses show-ready. With a variety of divisions starting from Crossrails through to the 3’ Jumpers, we typically have a class for everyone!
Bon Soo 13/02/26 -15/02/26
Come join us for our third consecutive year at Bon Soo. Give your littles an opportunity to go for a pony ride! Ages 6 years and up can go independently or with an adult. Helmets are provided.

Michaela Bowen 31/05/25 - 01/06/25
Michaela Bowen of Thessalon, Ontario provides several services in the North and primarily focuses on horsemanship, confidence, trail riding, obstacles, performance, back in the saddle after a break. During the Clinic, participants can select two topics they prefer to focus on which include; Liberty Foundations, Body Control/Reining Maneuvers, Obstacle Approach/Desensitization, General Groundwork, General Flatwork. We are excited to learn more about these topics!
Shelley Ellis 21/06/25 - 22/06/25
Shelley Ellis is the trainer and owner out of ‘Eastwood Stables’ located in Powassan, Ontario. Shelley has been teaching for over 44 years! She has extensive knowledge in the hunter, jumper and equitation rings. Shelley has dedicated so much time and effort in advancing the sport in the North by continuously providing showing opportunities to her young riders. Her commitment to the sport is truly unmatched.
